YOUTH GROUP

The Youth Group has met every Sunday evening at 4:30 in the youth room. The youth were encouraged to bring friends for this hour of learning and fun. Youth Leaders DJ and Heather Brouwer bring their youthfulness and their love of the Lord to this ministry and we are grateful for their devotion. There are various youth programs or events throughout the year, in the past the montly stand-by event is "Movie Night." A well-known movie is offered for a small donation on the fourth Friday of the month. Light fare and movie "goodies" are also available. At this time the youth group is undergoing transformation....For more information, contact our office or email DJ. more »

Alpha is "a practical guide to the Christian Faith." Created by the Rev. Nicky Gumbel, Trinity Church, Brompton, England, it is sponsored by most Episcoal Dioceses and is open to all adult Christians. Alpha consists of fifteen video sessions viewed over twelve weeks that address questions such as "What is the meaning of life?" "What happens when we die?" "What relevance does Jesus have for our lives?" "How do we deal with guilt?" A typical Alpha evening consists of an evening meal, singing, a 45 minute video followed by dessert, small group discussion and concluding prayers. Follow up groups have formed and are encouraged to form for further more indepth study. more »

CURSILLO

Cursillo (which in Spanish means "Little Course") is a diocese retreat experience for the purpose of strengthening one's faith. Cursillos are held several times a year, always beginning on Thursday evening and ending on Sunday afternoon. While Cursillo has been alive and well throughout the diocese, it has seen a recent resurgence here at St. Francis. It is a wonderful expression of love of God shining through his people. A reunion group (4th day group) has formed for Cursillistas. The group meets Sunday mornings between the services at 9:15 a.m. more »
